The Healing Properties of the Lily Part Two
The roots of the lily are used to treat burns by making an ointment to place on the burned area that also prevents scars.
Here is a simple recipe for lily root ointment
1oz of lily root
1/2 pint of purified water
2oz of beeswax
Chop lily root into fine pieces.Heat lily root and water to boiling. Remove from heat, strain out lily root and place liquid in covered non plastic container. Allow to steep for 24 hours. Reheat and add grated beeswax. Pour into clean glass containers. Use for burns and scalds.
